Peaceful Saturday

This time last week I was busy moving! Running around like crazy. This Saturday I'm enjoying a cup of coffee, reading emails, and posting on my blog in my nice, cozy apartment. What a difference a week can make!

I still have 4 boxes left to unpack and then we'll be all settled in. The boxes I have left are all my craft, sewing, and soapmaking supplies! It is going to be a challenge to figure out storage. I did put a small bookcase in one end of my closet and that's where the soapmaking stuff will go. Stephany only uses one half of her closet too so I'm going to get clear tubs for fabric and craft supplies to store in there. Then the top shelf of her closet is almost completely bare. I'm sure I'll fill that up too. I'm discovering that when you move into an apartment you have to get very creative.

Then the fun part begins - decorating! I am still torn between primitive and cottage. I love the look of both! Maybe I can mix the two in some way. All of my floral prints and vintage fabrics just call to me. Then I see pictures of grubby cinnamon scented prim goodies and I want that too. Decisions, decisions!!

It has been so cold here this past week but we've had dry weather. That is such a blessing this time of year. I've lived in the NW for 23 years and just love it. But the winter rain and gray skies do get tiring. Just when we don't think we can take it for another minute God blesses us with some time of dry weather and sunshine. Just enough to make it until Spring. March will be here before you know it and we'll be planting primroses and pansies.

Car update -- God blessed me in such a wonderful way! I got a new car last Tuesday -- new to me that is. It's a 2001 Buick Century and the nicest car I've ever had. It has automatic everything. I feel so pampered when I drive it. Plus it was a very good price as it was on the lot at the car dealership where my husband works. My wonderful employers let me drive the company parts truck until I got my car so that was a blessing too. Life is good and God is good!

As soon as I get batteries for my camera I'll post some pictures. I have to do that today as I have more fabric to list on eBay too. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!

We're Moved

We're all moved and in our new apartment! Everything went great! Now I'm up to my eyeballs in boxes. I'm making progress on the kitchen but just too tired tonight to unpack one more thing. I will write more tomorrow.

Hugs,
Kay

Tomorrow Is Moving Day

I'm almost packed and the movers will be here at 10 AM. I got the keys to my apartment last night and it was so fun to take some things over tonight. Stephany and I are both so excited.

When I told my husband I was leaving we both said that we would do this parting by being kind and fair to each other. There has been too much unhappiness for so long. Neither of us want this to be a hateful situation. He is being very helpful to me and I feel that we will be able to part as good friends. That's the way it should be because we have a daughter together. It is still sad to leave and I know his heart is hurting. I have been praying for God to draw near to him and help him through this hard time. But a good note is that my husband will be moving in with a Christian friend of ours who is looking for a room mate. It will be a great place for him to be and our friend will be a good help for him.

In the midst of everything I had car trouble on the way to work yesterday. Broke down by the side of I-5 and had to have my car towed to a dealership. Fortunately I work for two wonderful people who are letting me use a vehicle for the weekend. But the bad news is that the engine in my car is gone. I'm shocked at that because it doesn't have many miles. It is used but we've had it for a year. So I am up in the air as to what to do. Luckily my husband is in the car business and is helping me with this major glitch. Not sure what I'm going to do but God does. I'm just giving this whole thing up to Him and I will wait for him to provide and show me what He wants for me in this situation.

Have a great weekend!! I hope to be back online by Monday.

Love and hugs,
Kay

Thank You!

I am so blessed! Blessed with such wonderful friends - both in person and on line. I have received such beautiful and uplifting emails from people in the past couple of days. Thank you , thank you from the bottom of my heart! I got one special email from a friend that I hadn't heard from in almost 3 years. It is a long story that I will share next week. But it's a beautiful story of reconciliation and God's miracles. I can't wait to tell you about it.

I am in the middle of packing and so far it's going quite well. Saturday will be the moving day so I won't be on here much after Thursday.

I love you all and am so thankful you are in my life!

Hugs,
Kay

Pink Fabrics

I listed two fabric auctions tonight on eBay - almost the end of my pink fabrics. I know that I promised lots and lots of fabric but, quite frankly, I'm worn out both physically and emotionally. I have a couple more large piles of fabric that I still have to go through, measure, and take pictures of. I have to spend the next 4 days concentrating on packing everything for my move on Saturday. Within the next two weeks I will be settled and will begin listing the rest of my fabric. I hope that you can forgive me for not getting done what I promised! But it will be worth the wait!

Pretties Listed Tonight

I'm still cleaning out closets but did get some things listed tonight. There is still a huge pile of fabric in my living room floor that I have to measure, photograph, and list. Here's some of what I put up this evening. I will be listing more fabric tomorrow night and then I will be done until I move this weekend. You can click the link in the sidebar to find my auctions.

Found these gardening aprons mixed in with my fabric stash. I made these last summer and forgot I had them.

I also listed vintage crochet lace doilies, quilt squares (119 of them), and a grab bag of my fabric scraps.

Dividing

I'm not quite sure what to post. I just know that I should because I've been neglecting my blog. I'm tired tonight. I got all the Christmas stuff put away today. But in the midst of that I had to divide everything into "his" and "hers". That is the hardest part of a separation -- all the dividing. The dividing is making me feel tired and sad. I'll be glad when it's over. I want it to be over with no fighting. I refuse to fight over stuff. I would rather leave it here than fight over it. After all, it is just stuff and can be replaced.

I truly am looking forward to moving into my new apartment. I'm ready for my life to be less stressed. The last 7 or 8 years have been hard ones on both my daughter and myself. We just need to have a home that feels peaceful. I know our new place will feel that way -- I will make sure of that.

Jesus is my rock -- I will lean on His everlasting arms and I will get through this time. That is true peace!

Bet You're Wondering Where The Sale Is

I just got things cleared up with Blogger today. They determined that my blog was not a spam blog after all -- big surprise there!

I ended up listing my patterns on eBay. You can find them here http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZrusticcottageprimsQQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0

I have more patterns to list this weekend and will also be doing fabric. Sorry it's taken so long to get all this done. I don't have much time in the evening after work.

This will be the last batch of stuff I'm selling until after the 19th.
