Christmas Tree Ideas

I would love to have a Christmas tree that looks like this.  Hundreds of lights and all twinkly.  However, I have 2 cats!  Last year we only had 1 cat and Miss Sophie knocked the tree over 5 days in a row.  I finally took it down and put up a small one on the mantle.  This year Jude has been added to our family.  He is only 6 months old and into everything.  I know how it's going to go if I put up the tree.  Sigh.

I need some ideas on a cat proof tree.  Help!!!

We had a new puppy one year at Christmas and he took everything off the tree from 3' down and chewed it up. I could only put a gate up and keep him in the kitchen. That won't work with the kitty, but I think the kitty is probably more valuable than any tree. And in the future, it will make you smile to remember stories of the kitty who pulled over the Christmas tree!
Good to see you around!

we had two wonderful cats many years ago who loved to climb up the middle of the tree. I miss them! we have two dogs now, they just sit and enjoy the lights (thank goodness!) So sorry you will not be able to put up a tree, but the cats are always with you ....so enjoy! Blessings!

Your post brought back memories, for sure!!!! Nothing worse than seeing the cats using the Christmas tree for climbing, scratching, and stealing toys!!!! I saw many an ornament being batted around the floor. I, too, miss the cat more than the ornaments!!!!! Cora

We decided on no tree this year. Jude is just too much of a kitten and into everything. Add a tree and it will be a mess. Our house does look festive though as we have decorated for Christmas and have a tiny bottle brush tree on the entertainment center.
