Peaceful Saturday

This time last week I was busy moving! Running around like crazy. This Saturday I'm enjoying a cup of coffee, reading emails, and posting on my blog in my nice, cozy apartment. What a difference a week can make!

I still have 4 boxes left to unpack and then we'll be all settled in. The boxes I have left are all my craft, sewing, and soapmaking supplies! It is going to be a challenge to figure out storage. I did put a small bookcase in one end of my closet and that's where the soapmaking stuff will go. Stephany only uses one half of her closet too so I'm going to get clear tubs for fabric and craft supplies to store in there. Then the top shelf of her closet is almost completely bare. I'm sure I'll fill that up too. I'm discovering that when you move into an apartment you have to get very creative.

Then the fun part begins - decorating! I am still torn between primitive and cottage. I love the look of both! Maybe I can mix the two in some way. All of my floral prints and vintage fabrics just call to me. Then I see pictures of grubby cinnamon scented prim goodies and I want that too. Decisions, decisions!!

It has been so cold here this past week but we've had dry weather. That is such a blessing this time of year. I've lived in the NW for 23 years and just love it. But the winter rain and gray skies do get tiring. Just when we don't think we can take it for another minute God blesses us with some time of dry weather and sunshine. Just enough to make it until Spring. March will be here before you know it and we'll be planting primroses and pansies.

Car update -- God blessed me in such a wonderful way! I got a new car last Tuesday -- new to me that is. It's a 2001 Buick Century and the nicest car I've ever had. It has automatic everything. I feel so pampered when I drive it. Plus it was a very good price as it was on the lot at the car dealership where my husband works. My wonderful employers let me drive the company parts truck until I got my car so that was a blessing too. Life is good and God is good!

As soon as I get batteries for my camera I'll post some pictures. I have to do that today as I have more fabric to list on eBay too. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!

I am so glad to hear that you have that relaxing time after moving. The only thing I love about moving is the decorating and fun of finding places for my favorite things after all the hard box moving and cleaning part is done.
I hope to never move again..but I am getting sorta good at it by now..haha.
I know what you mean about it being hard to choose between cottage and prim...I do both sorta my own mix I guess...I never could decide. I don't have alot of florals..more like 1940's brights and I love distressed white stuff and garden theme stuff...but I do prim too..sorta mixed in. I bet you will figure out a way!!
Have fun!!

HI Kay,
I have caught up on you blog and am glad things are gooing well for you. God is good, even in more difficut times. But those sound distant at the moment.
I love cotage and primitive too, but when I actully want to put something in my house it's always primitive. I use the florals for accent because I'm drawn to them. But overall I found no matter what I'm drawn to it's primitive that actully grabs me most. So maybe you will lean the cottage directions because those florals really call to you.
