Get Your Feet Ready For Summer

I'll start this with a disclaimer - that is not my foot! I wish mine looked that good!

I'm sharing a quick beauty tip that will get your feet ready for summer in no time. My tootsies haven't been looking too great after a winter of being closed up in socks and shoes. This last weekend I made a salt scrub and have been using it on my feet every morning in the tub. I'll do this for at least two weeks and then will maintain my perfectly scrubbed tootsies by using it about twice a week. Always follow the scrub with a lotion or balm of some sort - I use my Herbal Salve or Lotion Bar. Don't forget to massage the lotion into the cuticles of your toes. If you shower before bed just put a pair of socks on your feet after rubbing in the lotion. Since I do mine in the morning I put a pair of socks on for about 15 minutes to let the lotion soak in.

Here's my recipe for a quick and easy salt scrub that you can do at home. It's non-slick so you won't be slipping in the tub or shower.

In a small stainless steel mixing bowl add 1/2 cup sea salt. Add to that about 1/2 tsp oil - I used sweet almond but olive oil would be great too. Then add a nice thick shower gel in your favorite scent and mix. Keep adding shower gel until the salt becomes a thinner paste consistency. Put into a pretty jar and enjoy! The nice thing about using a pre-made shower gel is that you don't have to scent or color the scrub - the gel does it for you. After sitting for 24 hours the scrub will get thick but that's ok.

Just scoop out a small amount and rub on your feet to remove dry skin and callouses. Note: if you are diabetic please check with your doctor before using.

Enjoy! Let me know how this works for you. My feet are looking better already.
