New Soap!!!

I finally got some soap made!! There's more to come but I just had to do two new scents that I've been wanting to try for summer - Good Mornin' Mint and Sugared Lime. They're both in my Etsy shop. I've also opened an eBay store (yes Kim, I will leave it open this time).

Stephany was gone for a while when I was making the mint soap. She came home and was very excited that I had made soap. I asked her why and she said "Now everything is normal again." She is right - everything is normal again. It's funny the things that our kids find comfort in. Our lives have been so topsy turvy for the last couple of months that it blessed my heart when Stephany found comfort in the minty batch of soap.

Good Mornin' Mint has spearmint and peppermint essential oils and I also added ground mint leaves. This one will definitely cool you off on a hot summer day!

The Sugared lime smells so good too - reminds me of a cool, frosty marguerita!

I haven't done a soap giveaway in a while either! So just leave a comment on this post and tell me which new scent would be your favorite. I'll draw on Sunday for the winner.

Hugs,
Kay

I'm happy for your little family that things are getting back to "normal", which by definition can be different for everyone.

Both soaps sound delicious (and yes, I know you don't eat them!), but the Sugared Lime sounds especially appealing. I think it was the comparison to a cool, frosty marguerita that clinched it for me. ;-Þ

Oh my gosh..the mint sounds wonderful..so does the lime...but I think I would choose the mint!
And isnt' it cool that Stephany has that comfort of things being normal now? My kids have silly little things like that. Summer told me one day that if I don't put all of our things for the day on my white board in the kitchen she knows I don't feel good, and Travis has told me that when I don't make a menu for the week and post it on the fridge he feels like something isn't right.
Good to see a post from you.
I sure keep you guys in my prayers!!

Good for you Kay! I think making soap is a good sign for you.

Are you getting settled in a place of your own?

I prayed for you this morning.

You can never go wrong with mint! It's very refreshing and in soaps it's a great pick me up for your tired self.

Seeing the photos of your soaps makes me miss soapmaking. I haven't done it in a few years and really miss it!

I wish you much success in your etsy store!

OOOH I would love to smell both of them, Kay.... I'll bet the lime smells nice and "summery", but I'll bet the mint would be very refreshing. I would be tickled to death with either one!

(It's finally reached the 100's here in Oklahoma. Was 104 today - YUK! and no rain or relief in sight.)
I'm glad to hear that you are making soap again! I agree with your daughter, sounds like one step closer to normal again.

I'm so thankful to read that things are going better- soap making kind of centers you, doesn't it? You have been very upbeat during your moves and very trusting of the Lord- it has been encouraging for me to hear you talk about it-
and I think the sugared mint soap sounds as refreshing as a slice of key lime pie-

They look great! It's hard to pick, but I would probably want to try the sugared lime! Yummy! I want to eat it!!

Well, I can't officially say that one or the other is my favorite as I have not tried your beautiful soap as of yet, although I am very partial to mint : )

I did want to say that the comment your daughter made about life being normal now just touched my heart so much. Aren't children precious gifts from the Lord! And sometimes we forget how very comforting "normal" is to them.

I am going to go and kiss my sleeping baby girl right now!(Even though she is 17, she is still my baby girl!)

Kay, I am so glad that things are settling back into a comfortable routine. Gotta love kids and their honesty. I think I would love the mint soap because it would remind me of you and your revelations.
Bless your sweet heart.

We are always finding a 'new normal' for our family, since things seem to change so often. Normal is a good thing. I'm glad soap making is a part of your normal! I would love to learn how to make soap someday!
I think I'm partial to the citrus scents because sugared lime sounds oh so yummy! I have so much chocolate mint in my garden right now! Shall I dry some ans send it to you for your soaps?
